Tonya MacLeod, also know by her nickname “TJ” was raised up in South Florida and is 16 years old. Her family relocated to the Gainesville, Fl. Area 8 years ago. She is a member of the Boys & Girls clubs, Girl Scouts, Racers for Christ, New Life Fellowship Church, Environmental Club at Fort White High, Fort White High School Band, volunteers at the local Elementary School. SHE ALSO PROMOTES AND VOLUNTIES FOR "BEAT THE HEAT" WHICH ADVOCATES RACING AT THE TRACK AND NOT ON THE STREETS. After watching the Movie “Right On Track” about Erica Enders, she became interest in racing and wanted to try it out. Like her father a road racer she feel in love with the competition and the type of friendly families that race, both big cars and juniors. She was selected as Rookie of the year in 2004, placed 9th in points for the 2005 season, and showed her Blue Angel Car at several car shows, and local events to aid in charitable causes. Tonya will soon be moving up to the large car ranks, and is hoping to be running semi-pro with in the next few years. She is really looking for the chance to run in the Pro-Stock class of NHRA and is doing everything she can to better herself for the competition that class has. Like her dad and the friends she races with, she is always helpful to new drivers, and is always there to lend a hand to support worthy causes. She has two brother currently serving in the US Navy, both have done tours in the middle east and both stationed in Jacksonville, Fl. Her family comes from a long line of Navy people, including her grandfather who served on the USS Wisconsin.
